Painlessly Removing Problematic Teeth

As your dental team, one of our primary goals is to help you keep your smile happy and healthy. While that usually involves saving your teeth if they are decayed or damaged, there are some instances where an extraction is needed. If that’s the case, you can have peace of mind knowing that you’re in good hands with our team at Julington Creek Family Dentistry; we’ll go above and beyond to make the entire process as smooth and seamless as possible.

Why Choose Julington Creek Family Dentistry for Tooth Extractions?

Reasons Why Tooth Extractions Are Necessary

Since we offer tooth-colored fillings, dental crowns, and several other restorative treatments, we can often save a damaged tooth. Unfortunately, however, there are some cases where that’s not an option, like:

If we determine that you’d benefit from a tooth extraction during your consultation, then we will create your custom treatment plan. We will also answer any questions you have so you feel confident moving forward. If you struggle with dental-related anxiety or need multiple teeth removed, we can also add sedation dentistry to your treatment plan!

The Process of Removing a Tooth

Once you arrive at our office and settle comfortably into the treatment chair, we will numb your mouth to ensure that you don’t feel anything during the procedure. Then, if the tooth in question has broken through the gumline, we will gently rock it back and forth until it’s ready to be removed. If it is trapped underneath, however, then we will create a small incision in the gums to access it first. Then, we will remove it section by section. In both cases, the final step is the same: tending to the extraction site.
